Securex Agencies (K) LTD is pleased to announce the addition of eight more beneficiaries to the company’s scholarship program. The Scholarship program which started in 2014, has benefitted 54 children of Securex Security Officers so far with the beneficiaries having their full tuition fees amid other expenses catered for throughout their high school curriculum.
“Thank you, Securex, for this opportunity. I will not let you down when I join Form one. I will better my grade when I do my K.C.S.E, to enable me to pursue my dream to be an engineer,” said Mildred Nakabi, one of the beneficiaries of the Securex Scholarship class of 2021, who scored 400 marks. She said this during the scholarship award ceremony held at the Securex operations offices at parklands.
This year, Vincent Oluoch, was top of the pile among applicants to be part of the Securex Scholarship Scheme. Vincent scored an impressive 414 marks and is set to join Kanga Boys High School in Migori County. Other students who made the grade were Chepchirchir Femmy – 402 marks (Kisumu Girls High School), Joy Murugi – 385 marks (St Mary’s Girls Kiangima High School), Kipchirchir Geith – 383 marks (Miathene Boys High School), Babra Nasike – 382 marks (Kisumu Girls High School), Purity Nafula Wamalwa – 405 marks (St Bridgit Girls High School), Muchila Kayo Vincent – 388 marks (Maseno Boys High School), and Mildred Nakabi – 400 marks (Lugulu Girls High School).
“Here before me, I see eager eyes and bright smiles, only matched by the even brighter futures you have ahead of you. You have all told us your hopes and dreams, and in that I see desire and ambition unbound. Thank you for allowing us to share this warm moment with you”, Mohit Sahni, Securex Director of Business Development, said during the event that was held at their office in Parklands, Nairobi.
“Now that you have all promised to keep shining in high school; here is our promise to you: We will do whatever it takes, whatever we can, to see your dreams come to pass. I have the utmost faith that in four years’ time, this will be the best performing class in the history of this scholarship program’’, he added.
The scholarship is an internal employee recognition scheme meant to reward some of the long-serving members of the company’s uniformed section whose children excelled in their K.C.P.E exams. Speaking while presiding over the ceremony, Securex Chairman Kishori Lal Sahni lauded the students’ efforts and encouraged them not to lose sight of their ambitions.
“In here, we have doctors, pilots, and engineers. We have little ones with big dreams to sit on top of the world one day. Dare to dream, dare to fly, but remember that a dream which isn’t backed up by a plan and action will remain just that-a pipe dream,” Mr. Sahni said. “We will be meeting you regularly, both here and in your schools, and we will watch over you. We’ll hold your hand and walk with you through this next journey in your lives,” Mr. Sahni assured the students.
