We are pleased to announce that we have bolstered our ranks through the promotion of seven new Field Officers, after the group’s graduation ceremony which was held on Saturday, 16th January 2016. The seven successful graduates were deemed to be competent after a rigorous training course; during which they were tested on Basic Personal Fitness, First-Person-on-Scene Investigation, Investigation Report-writing, Risk Mitigation Study, Risk Matrix, Customer Care and Deployment Scheduling.
Speaking as he officiated the ceremony, Securex Chief Operating Officer Daniel Lemmer lauded the graduates for their effort, noting that it was a historic occasion not just for them but for the company as well. “Today is a great day, not just for the seven of you but for the company and our clients as well. You have taken a big step forward in your individual careers, and I congratulate you all for that. Going forward, we expect to see not just 100%, but 110% commitment from all of you. Wear your badge with pride as you serve our clients,” Mr. Lemmer said.
We also spoke to one Jared Nyakuno, who emerged as the best recruit during the Field Officers’ training course, and he said he felt “privileged and honoured” to graduate on Saturday bearing in mind the difficulty of the training and high standards set for their assessment.
“I admit that the course was very difficult. Aspects such as risk mitigation, which was a practical assessment, were very challenging, but our instructors were there to guide us through. We were nervous before today’s graduation ceremony, but Mr. Lemmer’s comments were very encouraging to us.”
Career milestones such as graduation have been known to bring on a heavy case of the jitters especially in the build-up to the big day, and even for experienced individuals such as our seven graduands, the sense of the occasion was not lost on them.
“We were very nervous before today, and we rehearsed over and over again in preparation for the graduation. The C.O.O took the time to talk to each of us, including those who did not make it, which was very encouraging.”
Reflecting on his time at Securex since he joined as a guard in 2009, Jared was confident that this would be one of many more promotions to come.
“I will continue to work as hard as I always have. I was promoted to a Supervisor in 2014, so this is now my second promotion. I will stay at Securex and hope for new things every day.”
Securex Agencies (K) LTD wishes to congratulate the seven graduands once again, and wish them well as they embark on the next leg of their exciting journey at Securex.
