“A person who has never owned a dog; has missed a wonderful part of life.”Bob Barker.

Dog lovers and enthusiasts gathered at the 160th East Africa Kennel Club championship show which was held at the E.A.K.C Grounds in Jamhuri, Ngong on the 14th-15th May, 2016. There were 23 different breeds on show, including German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Deerhounds, Cocker Spaniels, Saint Bernards, Golden Retrievers and Terriers, being judged by the accomplished Christina Chapman (UK). We had 18 German Shepherds and Rottweilers competing in various categories including Best Puppy, Junior, Novice, Open and Limited Classes.

Skaga Uma, who was the toast of the Ladies Kennel Association Dog Show in February, kept up her stellar performances as she was judged to be the Best Junior Female German Shepherd. This was her first show competing as a Junior Dog, having previously participated (and won) as a puppy in October 2015 and February 2016. Skaga Issa meanwhile was picked as the Best Open Class Female German Shepherd, and Skaga Ulysses as the Best Novice German Shepherd. Our Rottweilers also performed admirably, with Skaga Tatu emerging the 2nd in the Mixed Puppy class, Skaga Jumbo 2nd in the Novice class while Skaga Hilti and Lalla came in 2nd and 3rd in the Limit Female dog class respectively.

Our performance further cemented our track record of excellence in the provision of professional, well-trained high-quality dogs. Skaga Uma has won awards in virtually every show she has appeared in since July 2015 when she was seven months old. Skaga Ulysses was picked as Best Junior German Shepherd in consecutive shows in July and October 2015. Skaga Issa meanwhile has a distinguished record as a show dog from February 2015 when she was picked as the Best Dog in the 48th Ladies Kennel Association dog show. She was then picked as the Best Female Dog-Open Class as well as the Reserve Best Female Dog in the Show in July 2015. She was also the 2nd in the Limit Class in October 2015.

Beyond our dogs’ stellar performances, we were proud to have been charged with the responsibility of watching over all the participants as they enjoyed a fun day out with family and friends. Because we understand that the only time you truly let your hair down and have some fun is when you know someone has your back. Congratulations to the team once again!
