Securex Agencies (K) LTD dominated the awards at the 49th Ladies Kennel Association Championship Dog Show that was held at the East Africa Kennel Club grounds in Jamhuri this past weekend. An outstanding display of professionalism saw the firm keep up its long-standing tradition of excellence in the breeding and training of top-quality sniffer and guard dogs. Skaga Uma, a one-year old female dog was the toast of the show, winning “Best of Breed (BoB)-German Shepherd” after seeing off stiff competition from a field of over 50 dogs. She then went on to claim top prize for “Best Country-bred Female Dog in the Show” and most notably, “Best Dog in Show-Junior Category.”

We also claimed honours for the “Best Male German Shepherd in Show (CC)” and “Best Male German Shepherd (Reserve) with Nerd von Athaba and Skaga Whizz respectively. Two of our Rottweilers, Apollo and Jumbo, came in second in the “Limit” and “Open” classes as well. The 49th edition of the LKA Championship was judged by Mr. Hans van den Berg, a Dutch native who has been judging since 1978 and has judged on all levels in Europe, Australia, South Africa, U.S.A and Indonesia.

We are particularly excited about Skaga Uma, whose stock has been rising steadily since July 2015 when she won 2nd place in the “Best Puppy Bitch” category. She was 7 months old at the time. She then won “Best Puppy Bitch” in October 2015 at 10 months, and she has now taken home three awards in the first dog show of 2016. Nerd von Athaba has also been on the rise, winning “Best Novice Dog” in October 2015 after coming in 3rd place in the same category three months earlier.

This has all been made possible by our team of elite dog handlers and trainers whose passion and dedication towards these beasts is unmatched. Congratulations to the team!
